S-PARTS Grade 5 Titanium MTB V-Brake Pad Bolt & Nut Set

A lightweight replacement hardware set for V-brake pad mounting, made from Grade 5 Titanium (Ti-6Al-4V). Each set includes one bolt and one nut and weighs just 4.6g/set.

Grade 5 Titanium Construction

S-PARTS works with a Xi'an civil aerospace industry metal-material supply chain and applies long-term laboratory comparison and testing to select titanium alloy material according to its internal standards.

The material used for this hardware has an average tensile strength of over 1050 MPa in S-PARTS testing, compared with the stated industry standard of over 895 MPa.

For international customers, the material is identified as Grade 5 Titanium (Ti-6Al-4V). TC4 is the Chinese designation for this titanium alloy and is therefore not used as the primary material name here.

Under comparable conditions, S-PARTS describes the mechanical performance of its titanium fasteners as comparable to 10.9-grade steel components, while the titanium hardware weighs approximately half as much as steel.

Precision Forging & CNC Machining

The bolt head is formed using a custom S-PARTS forging die at approximately 650°C.

To maintain processing precision during high-temperature production, each forging die is used for no more than 300 cycles.

The fastener body is precision-machined using CNC equipment, with micron-level tolerance control throughout production to achieve consistent dimensional accuracy and thread engagement.

PVD & Anodized Titanium Finishes

Different colors are produced using different surface-finishing processes:

• Gold, Rainbow / Oil Slick, Black and Blue: PVD vacuum nitriding finish
• Green, Purple and Candy: Titanium anodizing

The PVD process forms a dense surface film on the titanium, while titanium anodizing creates color through the formation of an oxide layer and the resulting interaction of light with the surface.

Candy Finish

The Candy finish has a naturally flowing and irregular color pattern caused by the coloring process. Because the final appearance depends on the finishing process, color distribution may vary from piece to piece.

Normal Thread Appearance

Some bolts may show fine white lines around the threaded area. This is a normal visual effect produced during the coloring process and does not indicate a product defect.
