Lightweight Titanium Hardware for Giant Defy

Designed for Giant Defy seatpost clamp applications, this S-PARTS hardware kit uses Grade 5 Titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) to replace conventional steel hardware with a lightweight, high-strength alternative.

The complete 6-piece set weighs just 12.2g, offering a high strength-to-weight ratio while maintaining the mechanical performance expected from performance-oriented bicycle hardware.

S-PARTS sources titanium materials through established metal material supply channels in Xi'an, China. Through long-term laboratory testing and material comparison, materials are carefully selected according to S-PARTS' internal quality standards.

S-PARTS Grade 5 titanium fasteners achieve an average tensile strength exceeding 1050 MPa, significantly above the commonly referenced 895 MPa industry benchmark.

Under comparable conditions, S-PARTS Grade 5 titanium fasteners provide a combination of mechanical performance comparable to 10.9-grade steel components, while weighing approximately half as much as steel. This gives titanium its distinctive strength-to-weight advantage for lightweight bicycle hardware.

Precision Forged and CNC Machined

S-PARTS bolt heads are hot-forged using dedicated custom dies at approximately 650°C. To maintain consistent forming precision, each stamping die is limited to no more than 300 cycles.

The fastener bodies are precision-machined in-house using advanced multi-axis CNC equipment. A micron-level dimensional control process helps maintain accurate threads, consistent fit, and smooth thread engagement.

Premium Titanium Finishes

Gold, Rainbow, Black & Blue

These finishes are produced using a PVD vacuum nitriding process, forming a dense nitrided surface layer that improves surface hardness and resistance to impact and wear.

The finish is integrated into the surface layer rather than simply applied as a conventional paint coating, helping maintain its appearance during normal use.

Green, Purple, Indigo & Candy

These colors are produced through electrolytic anodizing. During the process, a controlled oxide layer forms on the titanium surface.

The resulting colors are created by the interaction of light with the oxide layer, where variations in film thickness affect light reflection and interference. No dyes are used to create these colors.
