Shimano XTR M9000 / M9020 Compatibility
These M8 × 17 mm titanium bolts are designed specifically for the brake caliper body of Shimano XTR M9000 and M9020 brake calipers.
They are intended as replacement caliper body bolts rather than rotor mounting bolts or frame/fork caliper mounting bolts.
Please verify the original bolt dimensions and specifications before installation.
High-Strength Grade 5 Titanium
S-PARTS selects Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy (Grade 5), a high-performance titanium alloy widely used in demanding applications where strength, low weight, and corrosion resistance are important.
Through long-term material testing and strict quality control, S-PARTS titanium fasteners achieve an average tensile strength of over 1,050 MPa, exceeding the stated industry benchmark of ≥895 MPa.
Under comparable conditions, the overall mechanical performance of S-PARTS titanium fasteners is comparable to 10.9-grade steel hardware, while titanium offers a significantly lower density and an excellent strength-to-weight ratio.
At just 2.75 g per bolt, this M8 × 17 mm caliper body bolt is designed for riders who want to reduce unnecessary hardware weight without giving up the strength and durability expected from high-performance bicycle components.
Precision Hot Forging & CNC Machining
S-PARTS uses custom-developed forging tooling to form the titanium hardware under high-temperature manufacturing conditions of approximately 650°C.
To maintain consistent forming accuracy and strict quality control, each dedicated forging die is limited to no more than 300 production cycles before replacement.
After forging, the fastener body is precision-machined using high-accuracy CNC equipment. Strict dimensional and thread tolerance control ensures clean thread engagement, accurate fitment, and consistent machining quality.
This combination of controlled hot forging and precision CNC machining helps deliver the dimensional accuracy and reliable fit expected from performance-oriented bicycle hardware.
Premium Titanium Surface Finishes
Available finishes include:
- Gold
- Oil Slick / Rainbow
- Natural Titanium
- Black
- Blue
- Green
- Purple
- Candy
Gold, Oil Slick / Rainbow, Black & Blue
These finishes use a PVD Vacuum Nitriding Coating process to create a dense nitrided surface layer on the titanium.
The coating improves surface hardness, wear resistance, and impact resistance while producing a rich metallic finish. Under normal use, the finish is resistant to fading and discoloration caused by everyday exposure to moisture, dirt, and riding conditions.
Green, Purple & Candy
These colors are produced through an electrolytic anodizing process that creates a controlled oxide layer on the titanium surface.
The vivid colors are generated by the interaction between the oxide-layer thickness and light refraction rather than by conventional paint or dye. This produces the distinctive metallic color effects characteristic of anodized titanium.
Candy Color Variation
The Candy finish has a naturally flowing and highly variable color appearance. Due to the characteristics of the coloring process, the exact color distribution and visual pattern may vary from piece to piece.
Some bolts may also show fine white or light-colored lines around the threaded section. This is a normal result of the coloring process and does not affect normal use or the mechanical function of the bolt.
Important Installation Note
The caliper body bolt must be installed together with the original factory sealing ring.
Please retain and reuse the original sealing ring during installation. Always follow the manufacturer's installation procedure and recommended torque specifications when working on brake components.
For safety-critical brake components, proper installation is essential.
