3DAM Metal Additive Manufacturing
S-PARTS 3DAM products use metal additive manufacturing to build components layer by layer from metal powder based on digital 3D designs. Compared with conventional material-removal machining, this process provides greater design freedom for complex surfaces, thin sections, and hollow structures, allowing material to be strategically distributed according to the structural requirements of the component.
For this product, S-PARTS uses mechanical simulation and structural design optimization to refine wall thickness and material distribution around different load-bearing areas. The components are manufactured using BLT SLM metal laser powder-bed fusion equipment and high-purity titanium powder.
The titanium powder has a controlled particle size of 15–53 μm, with its chemical composition compliant with applicable GB and ASTM standards. According to data provided by the powder manufacturer, after annealing, the material has a tensile strength of approximately 970–1030 MPa, yield strength of 880–980 MPa, elongation of 15–20%, and reduction of area of 50–60%.
After printing, the components undergo annealing to relieve residual stress and improve stability, followed by support removal, surface finishing, and coloring.
Color Notes
Candy: Due to the coloring process, the overall Candy finish has a naturally flowing appearance with relatively random color variation. Each piece may have a different color pattern.
Thread Area: Some titanium screws may show white lines around the threaded area. This is a normal result of the coloring process and does not affect normal use.
Material & Manufacturing
Grade 5 Titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) combines high strength with low density, making it suitable for weight-sensitive components. S-PARTS uses additive manufacturing to take advantage of the material's properties while creating lightweight hollow structures that are difficult to achieve through conventional machining.
