Why 3D-Printed Titanium?
Metal 3D printing (additive manufacturing) builds components layer by layer from fine titanium powder instead of machining material away from a solid billet. This enables complex curves, ultra-thin walls, and hollowed-out internal structures that are virtually impossible to achieve with traditional CNC machining—allowing precise material placement only where needed to shave critical weight.
S-PARTS optimizes each top cap using SIMULIA FEA mechanical stress simulation to fine-tune wall thickness across all load points. Built on industrial BLT (Bright Laser Technologies) SLM printers using high-purity 15–53 µm Ti-6Al-4V titanium powder, every piece meets stringent ASTM international material standards.
Material Properties and Quality Assurance
Following additive production, components undergo vacuum stress-relief annealing to maximize structural fatigue resistance, followed by precise support removal, surface polishing, and custom anodizing.
In accordance with published supplier data for annealed printed material, the Ti-6Al-4V exhibits exceptional mechanical performance: 970–1,030 MPa tensile strength, 880–980 MPa yield strength, 15–20% elongation, and 50–60% reduction of area—delivering reliability on par with forged titanium hardware.
